The Blood of My Brother: A Story of Death in Iraq

Synopsis

An intimate, unflinching portrait of an Iraqi family fighting to survive as the Shia uprising engulfs their city. Nineteen-year-old Ibrahim becomes driven by revenge after an American patrol shoots his brother dead. The film hurls the audience into the turmoil of Baghdad—praying shoulder to shoulder with thousands of worshippers, feeling the thunder of low-flying Apache helicopters, clambering atop a sixty-ton tank, riding with masked fighters on a mission against U.S. positions, fleeing the threat of overwhelming retaliation, confronting blood-streaked streets and burning armor, and locking eyes with the cold, vacant stare of a fallen combatant.
