Synopsis

In 1745, Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, unable to bear children, faces a perilous succession: her only lawful heir is her nephew Peter, ill-suited and dangerously unready to rule. Determined to prevent him from ascending the throne, she hatches a bold plan — to marry the tsarevich, father a son, and secretly raise that child as the true Russian emperor under her strict tutelage. As prospective brides arrive in St. Petersburg to meet their fate, among them is the enchanting Fike — young Princess Sofia Frederica, born into an impoverished branch of the Prussian royal family.
