Synopsis

A body is discovered in the basement of an abandoned building, its corpse unnaturally preserved inside a shell of mortar-like concrete. Shortly after her transfer to the First Investigative Division, Kisaragi Toko is assigned as the unit’s negotiator and becomes the police’s direct interlocutor with this enigmatic antagonist. Tremi provokes and mocks the investigators while teasing cryptic clues about the crime; his threats are chillingly confirmed when a second victim turns up with their head encased in concrete exactly as he predicted. Obsessed with concrete and ritualistic concealment, Tremi’s motives remain obscured — until a startling truth about his real target begins to surface. Racing against time, Toko must decode his messages before the pattern reveals a purpose far more personal and dangerous than anyone expected.
