Synopsis
After his divorce, meticulous attorney Peter Sanderson tentatively reenters the dating world and keeps coming up short. He turns to online dating and strikes up a conversation with someone who claims to be a fellow lawyer; they arrange a meeting. The woman who arrives is Charlene, a fugitive — a Black woman with a criminal past — nothing like the polished professional Peter expected. Alarmed but intrigued, he listens as she begs him to take her case and prove her innocence. As Charlene tears through his orderly, middle-class life, Peter’s rigid routines and assumptions are challenged, forcing him to learn how to let go and embrace a wilder, more open side of himself.
