Synopsis

In the Mexican state of Michoacán, local physician José Mireles—known to his neighbors as El Doctor—abandons the clinic to organize ordinary citizens into a grassroots resistance against the brutal Knights Templar cartel that has terrorized their towns. Far north, in Arizona’s narrow Altar Valley—dubbed “Cocaine Alley”—veteran Tim “Nailer” Foley leads a small, self-styled paramilitary unit, Arizona Border Recon, determined to stop the violence and trafficking spilling over from Mexico into the United States. As both movements harden and their tactics grow more extreme, the two fronts illuminate the blurred lines between protection and vigilantism, and the human cost of a conflict with no easy border.
