Synopsis
In 1937, amid the Second Sino-Japanese War, Imperial Japanese forces overran Nanjing, then the capital of the Republic of China. In the six weeks that followed—an episode known as the Nanking Massacre or the Rape of Nanking—tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians were killed and many more suffered horrific sexual and physical violence.
