Is the movie Daddy available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?

On behalf of the Stream Tracker team, this article takes a close look at Daddy (2004), a spare, emotionally charged adaptation of A. Galych’s play Matrosskaya Tishina. Centered on a Jewish father whose single-minded dream is to see his son Dodik become the greatest violinist of his time, the film follows the boy’s journey from a small town to the Moscow Conservatory and the brutal choice between filial duty and artistic ambition. With its recurring motifs of the violin, the stage, and the weight of expectation, Daddy is as much about music and performance as it is about sacrifice and identity. Below you’ll find where to stream the film — including whether it’s available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+ — and any festival or other awards the film has received.

Daddy

Synopsis

Based on A. Galych's play "Matrosskaya Tishina," Papa follows a driven Jewish father who has poured his life into turning his son, Dodik, into a violin prodigy destined for greatness. From Dodik’s earliest years the father shapes and trains him, dreaming of stadiums filled with applause; when Dodik matures he leaves their small town for the Moscow Conservatory, trying to leave his past behind. Years later, success confronts him with a wrenching choice: to preserve the bond with the man who made him or to hold on to the career and acclaim he has fought so hard to achieve.
