The Sweet Hereafter

Synopsis

A remote mountain town in Canada is shattered when a school bus crash kills more than a dozen children. A lawyer from the city arrives to help the bereaved families and survivors pursue a class-action suit, but his intervention only deepens rifts and fuels suspicion among the townspeople. At the same time, one teenage survivor must face a separate, intimate trauma that strips away her innocence and forces a hard reckoning with adulthood.
