Synopsis
A young Belgian actor of Moroccan descent, eager to break free from being pigeonholed into meek "nice Arab" parts in forgettable films, accepts the daunting challenge of playing Saint Francis of Assisi. Immersing himself in a revered historical figure pushes him to question his own identity, beliefs and artistic limits just as his private life unravels: his father—who had been living in Morocco—returns unexpectedly to Brussels with a new wife and the first signs of Alzheimer’s. Torn between the director’s demands, the expectations of his peers, and mounting family responsibilities, he must navigate a fragile balance between career ambition and the care his father suddenly needs, forcing a reckoning that will change him both on and off the screen.
