The film blends dry divorce humour with moments of romantic turbulence and creative reinvention. Synopsis
Marianne, 44, decides she’s had enough of a long, passionless marriage to her lawyer husband Gustaf and asks for a split; he reluctantly proposes a temporary separation instead. As Marianne explores the liberating uncertainty of being newly single, Gustaf is thrown off balance and makes a impulsive, inexplicable leap — abandoning his legal career to become a poet. Along the way Marianne is drawn to Rodolfo, an artist who is everything Gustaf is not: magnetic, emotional, impulsive, and unapologetically driven by desire. Torn between a safe, stilted past and a tumultuous, sensual present, Marianne must navigate the cost of choosing passion over stability.
