Is the movie Le Petit Bougnat available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
At Stream Tracker, we keep an eye out for hidden gems and old favorites — and Le Petit Bougnat (1970) fits both bills. This quietly charming French coming‑of‑age film follows a young coal merchant desperate to join summer camp, a runaway girl named Rose (Isabelle Adjani) who balks at the bus, and the small battles with authorities and childish pride that shape their summer. Part rural fable, part tender camp chronicle, the film’s world is full of ash, buses, bunkbeds and the awkward rites of passage that make the story still resonate. In this article, we’ll walk you through where to find Le Petit Bougnat today and whether it’s streaming on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+. If you’re searching for this slice of vintage French cinema, we’ll save you the trip to the archives and point you straight to the platform — or tell you when it’s nowhere to be found.
Synopsis
On the morning the camp departs, Le Petit Bougnat — a boy who hawks coal and has been dreaming of summer away — learns his mother forgot to sign him up with the other children. Determined not to miss out, he desperately tries to sneak into the group and blend in, all while dodging officials bent on removing him from the excursion. At the other end of the bus is Rose (Isabelle Adjani), who refuses to take part and even bolts from the vehicle in a bid to get home. As the day unfolds, she broods and searches for a way back to her family, while the young coal seller quietly fights to remain. Gradually, Rose begins to discover the camp’s small pleasures and, when given a chance to go, chooses to stay.
