Synopsis
Leo, a world-weary 74-year-old lizard, has spent decades confined to a classroom terrarium in Florida alongside his long-suffering turtle roommate. When a bleak prognosis gives him roughly a year to live, he vows to break out and taste the wider world before it’s too late. His bid for freedom, however, is sidetracked when he becomes unwittingly entangled in the worries and dramas of the school’s anxious children — and must reckon with the havoc caused by an impossibly cruel substitute teacher. As Leo moves beyond the glass, he discovers that the messy, tender reality of the classroom can be more adventurous and meaningful than any solo escape.
