Synopsis
In 1989, Aileen Wuornos, a sex worker trying to build a new life, begins a close relationship with a younger woman named Selby. Faced with few opportunities, she is forced back onto the streets; after a client violently assaults her, she kills him in self-defense. That desperate act triggers a chain of robberies and killings as Aileen fights to survive and push back against exploitation, eventually becoming notorious as America’s first widely recognized female serial killer.
