Synopsis
Living modestly but content on the outskirts of Antwerp, young Nello and his grandfather make a living delivering milk. One day they rescue a battered Bouvier — a large, hardy dog from Flanders — nurse him back to health and name him Patrasche, the middle name of Nello’s mother Mary, who died when he was very small. Like his late mother, a gifted artist, Nello loves to draw, and his friend Aloise is both his favorite model and his most loyal supporter.
