Is the movie Nos voisins Dhantsu available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
At Stream Tracker, we like to think of Nos voisins Dhantsu (2016) as a cheeky travelogue that lands its two Quebec comics, Réal Béland and Stéphane K. Lefebvre, in the heart of Tokyo to poke fun at—and sometimes celebrate—the city’s ordered, modest and mysteriously polite rhythms. Part tightly rehearsed set-piece, part spontaneous improv, the film alternates between staged encounters and deliciously chaotic moments with local actors, turning cultural stereotypes about discipline and decorum on their head. Wondering where to watch it? Stream Tracker checks Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and AppleTV+ so you can find which platform currently carries the title in your region. Nos voisins Dhantsu didn’t pick up major international awards, but it’s appreciated for its playful cross-cultural experiments and the chemistry of its lead duo.
Synopsis
Quebec comics Réal Béland and Stéphane K. Lefebvre journey to Japan, mainly exploring the energetic streets of Tokyo, and turn their experiences into a playful travelogue. The film moves between carefully choreographed, tightly rehearsed sketches, collaborations with local actors and crew, and sudden bursts of wild improvisation. Through Béland’s eyes, the country appears measured, modest and enigmatic, and the filmmakers probe those impressions by upending the familiar stereotypes of strict order and discipline often associated with Japan. The result is a comedic portrait that bridges cultural gaps with both planned setups and unpredictable, spontaneous moments.
