The Bride

Synopsis

Nastya, a young woman from a small town, accompanies her newlywed husband Ivan to his remote hometown to meet his relatives. Almost as soon as they arrive she senses she’s made a terrible mistake: the household is filled with strange, standoffish people and the walls are hung with unsettling photographs. When Ivan vanishes, his family begins to prepare her for a secretive, traditional Russian wedding ritual whose purpose remains ominously unclear. Terrified and isolated, she clings to the hope that this ordeal will end and they can start their life together—if she can survive.
