Synopsis

When his older brother abdicates, Albert—nicknamed Bertie—is suddenly crowned king despite a debilitating stammer that saps his confidence and fuels doubts about his suitability. He reluctantly seeks out Lionel Logue, an unconventional speech therapist whose candid methods and insistence on emotional as well as vocal work forge an unlikely bond between them.
