Synopsis
In 2005, a small team of scientists and filmmakers left their lives behind for more than a year to sail into the Antarctic and live in complete isolation. Under the leadership of Jean Lemire aboard the Sedna IV, they followed in the footsteps of the great explorers, committing themselves to document and quantify the threat of global warming in one of the planet’s most vulnerable regions. The film is a chronicle of their extraordinary 430-day voyage, moving between hypnotic scenes of icy beauty and moments of pulse‑quickening danger as the crew repeatedly faces near‑catastrophe—an expedition where peril and wonder are permanently intertwined.
