Is the movie The Pale Blue Eye available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
At West Point in 1830 a cadet is found hanged with his heart cut out, and a retired New York constable, Augustus Landor, must dig through snow, secrecy and cadet loyalties to solve a grisly mystery with the reluctant help of a young Edgar Allan Poe. The Pale Blue Eye (2022) is a slow-burn, gothic detective tale steeped in period dread and macabre detail — the kind of film that leans on atmosphere as much as investigation. On Stream Tracker, we’ll tell you whether that chill fest is currently streaming on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or AppleTV+, and how to find it where you are. Though it wasn’t a major awards season darling, the film drew attention for its performances and meticulous production design.
Synopsis
In 1830 at the fledgling West Point Military Academy, the discovery of a cadet found hanged with his heart removed plunges the post into alarm. The army’s senior officers summon Augustus Landor, a former New York City constable famed for unraveling grim mysteries, to uncover the truth. Reluctant to leave his quiet life, Landor nevertheless accepts and soon finds himself navigating a maze of secrets, rivalries, and buried resentments among the cadets. He enlists the aid of an eccentric young student, Edgar Allan Poe—brilliant, hauntingly perceptive, and drawn to the macabre—and together they race against time to expose a cold-blooded killer before the academy’s fragile order collapses.
