After her mother's death, manga artist Soriya returns to her family’s roots in Phnom Penh, hoping to mend distant ties and mine the city for creative inspiration. She takes a small apartment in Metta, a dilapidated housing block from the Khmer Rouge era, and is kindly received by her maternal relatives. But her days in the flat and its surrounding streets are shattered by gruesome, blood-stained visions—disturbing wakeful hallucinations that make her feel like a living conduit for the traumas of the past spilling into the present.
