Synopsis

A science-fiction miniseries from Yap Films, an independent production company with bases in Toronto and Leeds, premiered on the Canadian History Channel in the summer of 2010 and later ran on the U.S. SyFy Channel from September 9 to October 14, 2010. The program follows a team of inventive researchers and visual artists who travel the globe to investigate accounts of legendary and mythic creatures. Combining historical sleuthing with ecological and biological research into real-world animals that might have inspired the tales, the team concludes each episode by recreating those beasts through computer-generated effects and animation.
