Synopsis

At the close of the 21st century, a mysterious illness called Cagaster began turning people into gigantic, ravenous insects. The outbreak wiped out two-thirds of humanity, and the survivors adopted a grim rule: any infected person must be exterminated to halt the spread. By 2125, thirty years after Cagaster first appeared, Kidou, a young exterminator working along the desert edge beside the insects’ containment zone, discovers a man gravely wounded by the creatures. With his last strength the man entrusts his daughter Ilie to Kidou, pleading with him to find the girl’s mother.
