Synopsis

Tomoya Okazaki is a third-year high school student who resents the direction his life has taken. After his mother died in a car accident when he was a child, his father descended into drinking and smoking, and their relationship spiraled into frequent fights; during one of those confrontations Tomoya injured his shoulder, and the growing distance between them pushed him toward delinquency. On his way to school he meets Nagisa Furukawa, an unusual girl a year older than him who is repeating the year due to a prolonged illness and has become isolated as her peers moved on.
