Is the TV show Hate The Player: The Ben Johnson Story available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
At Stream Tracker, we follow the race for streaming rights so you don’t have to. Hate The Player: The Ben Johnson Story (2026), led by Shamier Anderson (John Wick 4, Invasion), who also serves as an Executive Producer for Bay Mills Studios, sprints through the notorious 1988 Olympics doping saga — the 9.79‑second rise and sudden fall that some called “The Dirtiest Race in History.” Equal parts revealing and satirical, the series takes you from the starting blocks to the finish line of a scandal that rewrote athletics history. In this article we’ll map out where to watch it — Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+ — and list any awards the show may have picked up since its release.
Synopsis
Shamier Anderson (John Wick 4, Invasion) leads the cast as Ben Johnson and also serves as an executive producer for Bay Mills Studios. HATE THE PLAYER: THE BEN JOHNSON STORY presents Johnson’s unapologetically partisan account of the 1988 Olympic scandal—his 9.79-second 100m triumph that turned him from national hero into a figure of disgrace after testing positive for banned steroids in what critics dubbed “the dirtiest race in history.” The series mixes sharp satire and revealing drama to probe the race itself and the deeper layers of accusation, politics and media spectacle that followed.
