Synopsis

Hitori Bocchi is a shy girl whose social anxiety has kept her tied to a single friend through all of elementary school. When she learns the two will be separated after graduation, she makes a bold vow: by the time she finishes middle school she will have become friends with every classmate — and if she doesn't, their friendship could be over. But Bocchi can't easily connect with others. Nerves make her legs lock up, she can't meet people's eyes, and she has no clue how to start a conversation. Every plan she devises to make friends turns into an awkward disaster. Can she conquer her fears and turn an entire class into friends before the clock runs out?
