Synopsis

Chan Tsz-long, a warm-hearted designer, and his idealistic girlfriend Yau Hoi-kei struggle with the constant uncertainty of Hong Kong’s housing crisis as they try to build a life together. Tsz-long’s two younger sisters could not be more different: photographer Chan Tsz-yan drifts deeper into the hedonistic orbit of artist Ki Ka-hei, while the disciplined, popular student Chan Tsz-ting adopts a practical stance when her first love reappears. Determined to have their own space, Tsz-long and Hoi-kei take any work they can find and, after marrying, cram into a cramped subdivided flat just over 100 square feet—juggling claustrophobic living conditions and the emotional demands of aging parents on both sides. For a while the couple manages to navigate the pressures and hold their relationship together, but when their long-awaited property dream suddenly collapses, conflicts over the apartment and what it represents begin to corrode the way they treat each other.
