Kim's Convenience

Synopsis

A tender, often uproarious family drama centers on the Kim household, a Korean-Canadian clan who run a small convenience store in downtown Toronto. Appa and Umma, who immigrated in the 1980s and opened their shop near Regent Park, raised two children—Jung and his younger sister Janet—who are now forging their own paths as young adults. Their fragile equilibrium was shattered when a violent confrontation over missing money erupted between Jung and his father when Jung was sixteen, prompting him to walk out; years later the rift remains, casting a long shadow over the family and the business they all depend on.
