Synopsis

Seven sisters known as the Komekami! Girls are born from the ancient belief that a single grain of rice can house seven spirits. When their mother—the rice-god queen—is suddenly recalled to the heavens and cannot return, the sisters set up home in Usa City (Oita Prefecture) and begin a quest to find traces of her. Using the sacred Hachiman shrines scattered across Kyushu as portals, they travel from town to town, helping locals solve problems, uncovering regional food traditions, and taking part in spirited cooking contests. Along the way their skills, bonds, and understanding of food and community deepen as they grow into their roles as guardians of the rice spirit.
