Is the TV show Lady Oscar available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
As the Stream Tracker team, we take a look back at Lady Oscar (1979) — the animated adaptation of Riyoko Ikeda’s landmark manga The Rose of Versailles — and where to find it today on streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or AppleTV+. Set amid the glittering salons and bloodstained streets of Versailles during the French Revolution, the series follows Oscar François de Jarjayes, a woman raised as a commander of the royal guard, and mixes court intrigue, swordplay, cross-dressing and the looming guillotine into a sweeping historical drama. First serialized in Margaret in the early 1970s (with a revival published from 2013 to 2018), Ikeda’s work helped define shōjo storytelling and remains a touchstone for portrayals of Marie Antoinette, aristocracy and revolutionary fervor. While not primarily celebrated for major international awards, its cultural influence and critical acclaim are undeniable. Read on — we’ll check whether Lady Oscar is currently streaming on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or AppleTV+ in your region.
