Synopsis

In a near-future Japan where birthrates have collapsed, children are both idolized and subjected to relentless surveillance, and Santa Claus has been outlawed as a public menace. On a snowy December 25, middle-schooler Kazushige Sanda — a descendant of the legendary Santa — is confronted by a classmate, Fuyumura, who begs him to find her missing friend Ono: "Santa, please find my friend." Haunted by the need to shield youngsters from a world run by overbearing adults, Sanda adopts the mantle of Santa and mounts a secret resistance to protect the children he loves.
