Is the TV show The Trials of Winnie Mandela available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?
At Stream Tracker, we look at The Trials of Winnie Mandela (2026) — a probing documentary series directed by the late Mandy Jacobson, a two-time Emmy Award–winning filmmaker. Told through the eyes of Madikizela‑Mandela’s granddaughters, HRH Princess Zaziwe Manaway and HRH Princess Swati Mandela‑Dlamini (also a producer), the series pieces together family memory, archival record and personal testimony to reveal the woman affectionately known as “Big Mommy.” Themes of judgment, resilience and legacy run through the narrative as the family’s search for truth reframes a public icon. In this article we’ll also cover where to stream the series — whether you’re checking Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+ — and how to find it in your region.
Synopsis
Directed by the late, two-time Emmy Award–winning documentarian Mandy Jacobson, the series is told through the eyes of Madikizela-Mandela’s granddaughters, HRH Princess Zaziwe Manaway (née Dlamini) and HRH Princess Swati Mandela-Dlamini, the latter also serving as a producer, as they set out to discover the woman they lovingly call “Big Mommy.” Combining intimate family memories, first-hand testimony and archival records, their journey pieces together a layered, intimate portrait that bridges private recollection and public history.
