Synopsis
Fleeing the imminent destruction of their home world, the inhabitants of Thundera escape in a fleet of ships but are relentlessly hunted by mutant attackers. Only one craft survives long enough to continue the journey, its engines crippled and its passengers reduced to a small band of Thundercats. Commanded by the elder Jaga, the ship limps toward the nearest habitable planet while seven of the Thundercats remain in stasis. Jaga dies during the voyage and the damaged vessel ultimately crashes onto a place known as Third Earth. On this strange new world, the survivors forge alliances with local peoples and construct a stronghold to shelter themselves. Yet they are far from safe: Mumm-Ra, an ancient, malevolent force, and the mutant horde that destroyed their world persist as relentless threats. Under the leadership of the young Lion-O, armed with the mystical Sword of Omens, the Thundercats must learn, unite, and fight to survive and reclaim their destiny.
