Ugly Duckling

Synopsis

Humiliated after confessing to her elementary-school crush, Maewnam is crushed when he rejects her in front of his friends and calls her ugly. Traumatized, she retreats from the world—literally—by wearing a cardboard box over her head, convinced she must hide because she’s hideous. Now forced to face school again, Maewnam crosses paths with Minton, a gentle new classmate, and Zero, a notorious troublemaker who solves problems with his fists. As she slowly learns to trust others, a single question hangs over her healing: who was the boy who called her ugly all those years ago—Minton, Zero, or someone else?
