Synopsis
Set between 1930s Argentina and contemporary Spain, Vientos de agua is a 2006 Argentine–Spanish mini-series created by Juan José Campanella. The drama follows a Spanish immigrant who builds a new life in Argentina and, decades later, the journey of his son as he returns to modern Spain. Broadcast in Spain on Telecinco in January 2006, the show ran for a single season of 13 episodes. It became a hit in Argentina but struggled with low audiences in Spain, where it was moved from prime time to a late-night slot and ultimately cancelled—partly attributed to online downloads. Despite fan campaigns for a second season, only the original 13 episodes were produced; the series nevertheless performed strongly in DVD sales.
