Synopsis

The Italian edition of the British singing-competition format launched on Rai 2 for its first four seasons before moving, in 2011, to Sky Uno (with later reruns on TV8) after Rai withdrew over rising production costs. Sky Italia secured the format and extended its run through 2024. From season 11 the show's official radio partner became RTL 102.5, taking over from Radio Deejay and Radio 105. Presenters have included Francesco Facchinetti (2008–2010), Alessandro Cattelan (2011–2020), Ludovico Tersigni (2021), and Francesca Michielin (2022–2023); from 2024 the programme is hosted by Giorgia. Since season 7 production has been handled by Fremantle Italia, no longer involving Magnolia, which had produced the early selection episodes.
