Synopsis

A curious boy investigates a strange noise coming from his refrigerator and is pulled into an uncanny parallel realm captured in shaky, found-footage style. What initially appears to be a hostile otherworld is, in fact, strangely welcoming—but panic wins out, and he flees, convinced he has escaped danger. Pursued by enigmatic inhabitants, he returns to the real world deeply changed: braver, haunted, and more distrustful of appearances. Blending psychological thriller, dark comedy, and mystery with graphic moments and a growing mythos, the series explores the cost of assumptions and the thin line between fear and compassion. Many of the world’s inhabitants carry tragic backstories rather than pure malice. One is the Chicken Maker, a sorrowful figure whose family was brutally killed and grotesquely turned into food. Another is Yuriy Pihosh, the so-called Fake Dad — an amateur repairman who was dragged into the other realm while working on the refrigerator. Partly lifeless and seemingly possessed, Yuriy alternates between violent impulses and obsessive, mechanical attempts to fix what broke him; his history of severe bullying and trauma is treated with nuance, reframing him as a damaged person rather than a cartoon villain. Small, misunderstood acts — like handing out cupcakes later labeled “poison” by frightened onlookers — become part of the show’s exploration of rumor, fear, and misplaced blame. Creator-director Oleg envisions a five-season arc that adds new characters, deepens the ensemble for greater realism, and incorporates original music from his career. Proposed budgets: Season 1 — $402K; Season 2 — $1M; Seasons 3–5 — $2M–$5M each. Above all, the project is guided by a commitment to respect and careful storytelling.
