New releases on Netflix this week : Top 10 picks
Every Saturday, we go through what just landed on Netflix so you don't have to. This week's lineup, covering October 18 to October 24, 2026, is particularly stacked : returning originals, a massive horror pickup, and two Ridley Scott films arriving on the same weekend. Here's what deserves your attention.
The new series worth clearing your schedule for
Lupin Season 4 is the headline. Omar Sy's gentleman thief returns after a three-year break, and the new season shifts the conflict in a genuinely clever direction : a copycat is committing crimes using deepfakes and hacking, framing Assane Diop for a string of heists he didn't pull. Sy himself described it as "old school versus new school," which captures it well. A man who learned everything from a century-old paperback, up against someone who learned from a laptop. This is also the first season without creator George Kay, with Sy stepping up as co-showrunner alongside Louis Leterrier. Eight episodes, all available now.
Nobody Wants This dropped its third season on Thursday, all ten episodes at once. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are back as Joanne and Noah, now moving in together after the recommitment at the end of Season 2. That means every unresolved question about faith, family, and day-to-day cohabitation now lives under one roof. The show debuted at #9 on the weekly TV chart with 20 points after just two days of viewing. With a full weekend ahead, a top 5 finish next week looks realistic.
The biggest licensed acquisition this week is From (Seasons 1-3). Harold Perrineau leads as Boyd Stevens, the sheriff of a small town nobody can leave, where creatures emerge after dark and kill with a smile. Thirty episodes of one of the best-reviewed horror series on TV, timed perfectly for the final stretch before Halloween. Worth noting : Netflix only has the first three seasons, Season 4 remains exclusive to MGM+, and the fifth and final season is expected in 2027. Don't treat this as a permanent addition. From debuted at #4 on our chart with 35 points after just five days.
Then there's Cyberpunk : Edgerunners Season 2. Studio Trigger is back in Night City, four years after the first season. This time, a new crew takes center stage : a videographer, a chrome-obsessed renegade, a cyberpsychosis survivor, and a netrunner with a score to settle. New director Kai Ikarashi handles the visuals, Bartosz Sztybor returns as showrunner. Our reviewer Kambole Campbell gave it five stars, calling it "scrappier, messier than its predecessor, but that in itself feels human." Not horror in the traditional sense, but absolutely appropriate for Halloween viewing.
Movies and the weekly streaming charts
On the film side, Netflix quietly added both Gladiator (2000) and Gladiator II (2024) this week. Ridley Scott's original still holds up, and having both films available back-to-back on the same platform is genuinely useful. Gladiator II debuted directly at #9 on the movies chart with 29 points. Beyond those two, the weekly film additions include :
- Surviving Hurricane Otis (2026), a Netflix Original documentary in Spanish
- Paralyzed by Hope : The Maria Bamford Story (2026), Netflix Original
- Theo Von : I'm Doing Fine (2026), Netflix Original stand-up special
- Emily (2022), the biographical film on Emily Brontë
- The Ides of March (2011), George Clooney's political thriller
- Bottle Shock (2008), the wine drama based on the 1976 Paris tasting
For the complete new releases on Netflix top 10 this week, including every title added between October 18 and October 24, the full breakdown covers 24 new movies and 16 new series.
Here's how the TV chart looks this week, based on points accumulated from daily top 10 positions between October 17 and October 24 (data via FlixPatrol) :
| # | Title | Points | Movement |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Diplomat | 65 | ▲ from #11 |
| 2 | Love Is Blind | 65 | ▲ from #8 |
| 3 | Below | 62 | ▼ from #1 |
| 4 | From | 35 | NEW |
| 8 | Cyberpunk : Edgerunners | 21 | NEW |
| 9 | Nobody Wants This | 20 | NEW |
| 10 | Theo Von : I'm Doing Fine | 19 | NEW |
On the movies side, Animals holds #1 for a second consecutive week with 76 points. Sacrifice, the cult thriller directed by Romain Gavras with Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy, jumped from #13 to #2 with 61 points after its first full week on the platform. That kind of momentum is rare and suggests strong word-of-mouth. The Fate of the Furious made the jump from #14 to #4, while Twilight, defying all logic, sits at #5.
What to actually prioritize this weekend
If you're only watching one thing, From is the call, assuming you haven't already found it on MGM+. Thirty episodes before Halloween, a genuinely unsettling premise, and Harold Perrineau at his best. The licensing window likely won't last forever, so now is the time.
For something lighter, Nobody Wants This Season 3 is ten tight episodes you can finish in a single sitting. The show has never overstayed its welcome, and co-showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan know exactly when to stop.
And if you're curious about Lupin Season 4 but haven't kept up since Part 3, the deepfake-and-identity angle is fresh enough to pull even lapsed viewers back in. The shift to Sy as co-showrunner gives the season a noticeably different energy, more personal, less purely heist-driven. Worth the eight episodes.
