Is the movie Aloft available on Netflix, Disney+, Prime or Apple TV+?

At Stream Tracker, we take a closer look at Aloft (2014), Claudia Llosa’s quiet, atmospheric drama about a mother and son pulled apart by a devastating accident — a story of absence, healing and the fragile possibility of flight. Between the mother’s life as an artist and healer, the son’s solitary existence as a falconer, and a young journalist who forces their paths to cross, the film asks whether art and life can mend what’s been broken and teach us to soar again. Aloft premiered at the 2014 Venice Film Festival but did not collect major festival prizes; it nonetheless drew attention for its luminous imagery and haunting performances. In this article the Stream Tracker team checks current streaming options and availability — including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Apple TV+ — so you’ll know where to watch (or whether to wait for your chance to take to the sky).

Aloft

Synopsis

Torn apart by a traumatic accident years earlier, a mother and her son have been pushed onto divergent paths: she becomes a celebrated artist and a compassionate healer, while he grows into an uncommon falconer, carrying the scars of a twin absence that has shaped his solitude. When an inquisitive young journalist reunites them, their fragile encounter forces both to reckon with old grief, the purpose of creation, and the role of care in mending what was broken. As questions of art and life collide, the meeting opens a tentative chance to embrace living fully amid the uncertainties that have shadowed their journey.
