Bowfinger

Synopsis

A cash-strapped, would-be director on the edge of collapse devises a wildly audacious plan to make the picture that will finally change his fortunes. He assembles a mismatched crew — an eager young ingénue, a faded diva clinging to past glory, and a beleaguered studio gofer — and launches a guerrilla-style production intended to be a summer blockbuster. Their catch: they intend to feature Hollywood’s biggest star, Kit Ramsey, in the film without his knowledge, setting off a chain of outrageous tricks, near-misses and chaotic improvisation as they race to turn fantasy into a finished movie.
