Synopsis

Repeated stagecoach robberies are disrupting the shipment of William Sharon’s gold, so he recruits banker Charles Crocker—using Crocker’s influence with the Central Pacific Railroad—to construct a branch line from Virginia City to Carson City and move the bullion by train.
