Midsommar

Synopsis

Several friends travel to Sweden to document a rare summer festival—one that takes place only once every ninety years—in the secluded hometown of one of them. What begins as idyllic fieldwork under the northern midnight sun soon unravels as the town’s inscrutable, overly hospitable residents coax the visitors into a series of increasingly bizarre and unsettling rituals. Their sunlit holiday and academic curiosity dissolve into a horrifying struggle for survival as the true nature and cost of the celebration are revealed.
