The Sentinels (1988) — the aborted continuation of the 1985 Robotech saga that was meant to follow Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes and the Robotech Expeditionary Force as they hunted protoculture and faced lingering Zentraedi threats during the events of The Robotech Masters and The New Generation. The project was cancelled in 1986 and only a short OVA/pilot saw release in 1988; it didn’t collect major awards, but it remains a cult footnote in Robotech lore. Synopsis

Conceived as a direct follow-up to the 1985 Robotech television saga, this project set out to continue the story by following Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes and the rest of the Robotech Expeditionary Force as they navigated the conflicts unfolding during the Robotech Masters and The New Generation arcs. Development was halted and the series was ultimately scrapped in 1986.
