Synopsis
On the night of July 16, 1942, ten-year-old Sarah sees her family seized and is taken with her parents to the Vélodrome d'Hiver in Paris, a holding site where thousands of Jews were gathered for deportation. In a desperate act, she manages to lock her little brother in a cupboard just before the officers burst into their home. Sixty years later, American journalist Julia Jarmond, living in Paris, is assigned to write about this infamous roundup—a dark episode in France's past. While combing through archival records, Julia uncovers Sarah’s file and, with it, a carefully concealed secret that ties directly to her own in-laws.
