Synopsis

In frontier California, Rosie Nell, a woman tied to the seedier dance halls, finds herself falsely accused of killing a fellow performer. With her daughter—who has no inkling of her mother's life—due to arrive the next day from a school in the East, Rosie is granted a three-day reprieve to spend with her child in a nearby cabin. The brief reunion is brightened by the ballads of the bold outlaw Alvarez and the tender verses of the romantic Randolph. But every moment of peace is threatened when Bagley, the dance-hall manager, spots the daughter and sets out to claim her for himself.
