Synopsis
Richard Haig is a respected English professor at Trinity College, Cambridge, admired by colleagues and students alike. Outside the lecture hall he keeps a string of affairs with attractive undergraduates, a pattern that has begun to feel empty. When his 25-year-old American girlfriend Kate — athletic and sun-kissed — tells him she is expecting, Richard is overjoyed at the prospect of a stable family and the chance to be a father his children would respect, leaving behind his reputation as a reckless womanizer. There is, however, a complication: he is not in love with Kate. His true feelings belong to her sister Olivia, whom he has loved from the moment he first saw her.
