Thirteen-year-old Finney Blake, timid but sharp, awakens to find himself kidnapped by a remorseless killer and locked away in a sealed, soundproof cellar that swallows any cry for help. When a seemingly dead wall phone begins to ring, Finney discovers it carries the voices of the murderer’s previous victims — desperate, haunted messages that reach out from beyond their own endings. United and relentless, those voices work to protect him, desperate to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.
