Synopsis
In 1575, young soldier Miguel de Cervantes is taken by Barbary corsairs during a sea voyage and delivered to Algiers as a captive. With a brutal fate looming unless his family can raise a ransom, he clings to his imagination and the power of storytelling as his only refuge and means of endurance.
