Synopsis

Aston, a withdrawn man living alone in a cluttered attic room of a rundown house in a poor London neighborhood, takes in Mac Davies, an elderly drifter recently sacked from a menial café job. As Mac settles in and is eventually given the role of caretaker, the fragile peace is repeatedly shattered whenever Aston is away: his brother Mick, a cruel and mocking presence, delights in tormenting Mac and deliberately undermines Aston’s authority.
