The Lulus

Synopsis

when their orphanage is hastily evacuated, four boys—Lucien, Lucas, Luigi and Ludwig, between ten and fifteen years old—are accidentally left behind. With Abbé Turpin and their teacher Leutellier gone, the children find themselves stranded alone behind enemy lines. They are soon joined by Luce, a young girl separated from her parents, and together they resolve to make their way to neutral Switzerland by any means necessary. Untrained and exposed to the hardships of war, their desperate escape turns into a perilous coming-of-age odyssey through a landscape turned hostile.
