Synopsis

A sudden earthquake rips through a calm Los Angeles morning, cracking the streets and allowing molten rock to surge toward the surface. When a volcanic cone begins to form inside the La Brea Tar Pits, the city’s emergency management director teams up with a resolute geologist to confront an unprecedented disaster. Racing against spreading flames and choking smoke, they mobilize first responders, engineers and every available municipal resource in a desperate effort to divert the lava and keep the city from being consumed.
